Parents can’t find out if the child requires special education and other related services until they are in elementary school. "Child Find" Evaluation by teachers or Independent Educational Evaluation (IEE) Professionals and the parents together decide if the child is a "child with a disability," as defined by IDEA. " Child with a disability " is eligible for special education and related services. Within 30 work days after Evaluation IEP team must meet to write an IEP for the eligible child.
