Parents can’t find out if the child requires special education and other related services until they are in elementary school. So it’s one of the main responsibilities of a teacher to identify the special need children in school & treat them with special care. Here are some methods to identify a special child . "Child Find" Evaluation by teachers or Independent Educational Evaluation (IEE) Professionals and the parents together decide if the child is a "child with a disability," as defined by IDEA.
